Good idea. Let's pick a new topic.Matchi wrote:Okay that's enough derailing for now.
What are your opinions on BGM? I like to have a good soundtrack playing in the background while I play my game, but I don't want the sort of tune you get sick of after a few loopings.

I could listen to many an OST for days. Some might last me months.
I've also heard of a person who listened to the same video game tune for over a month.

Out-of-game I listen to OSTs quite often when on the laptop, usually whilst forumming. When I'm playing a game, I'll almost always listen to the music, but on the off chance there's not much too it (Boom Blox) or it just isn't that special (something like de Blob), then I might stick a CD on to play over it.
As for the music in general, I think in some cases it really adds to the atmosphere and provides the game with a stronger sense of identity. Music is a very powerful trigger for memories and a lot of retro classics really spark off nostalgia for me, especially where the original Mon games and SML/2 are concerned, and I think this will be the case with a few modern games in a few years to come.

I don't like very much videogame music. That said, I can listen to certain Pokémon tracks for hours.
